The people nearby while you're in the dark
Each retreat has a named facilitator who prepares you, checks in daily, and is there when you come out.
James Farmer
“I've had the honor of facilitating this work for others and witnessing how the darkness meets each person in their own way — often exactly where and how they need to be met.”
James has spent many years in solo wilderness retreats, vision fasts, rites of passage, meditation intensives and long periods alone in nature. He describes his first darkness retreat as “by far the most profound and life-changing retreat experience of my life,” and says what made it so powerful was the absence of any method.
James facilitates the retreats of March 27 through April 12, 2027.
Jacob Goldberg
“In its presence, with nothing to grasp for and nowhere to hide, I have moved through primal fears and softened into deeper truths.”
Jacob describes a darkness retreat as a precious opportunity to slow down and commune with the fullness of our existence, both dark and light. He also offers cranial-sacral therapy during retreats at additional cost.
Jacob facilitates the retreats of March 15 through March 31, 2027.
Gina Farmer
Gina offers bodywork and acupuncture sessions on arrival day and during your retreat, at additional cost. She has done a darkness retreat of her own, alongside James in a separate cabin.
